Counselling with me
I will offer you honesty, compassion, and support. I create an open and accepting environment, where it is safe to explore anything you wish to share. I understand you may be feeling anxious, and I hope to support you to feel safe, calm, and at ease when discussing your troubles with me.
I believe you and I are equal partners in counselling and the relationship between us is unique and valuable. I am genuinely interested in you and I will listen to what is causing you distress. I do not offer advice for your problems, instead we work together to find solutions, and to clarify things which are confusing and upsetting you.
I have been practising psychotherapy for five years. I currently work with individual clients and groups for the NHS, and in private practice.
I have been a mental health professional in the NHS for four years. I have specialist experience working with people suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, health problems, and work related stress.
The content of our sessions is confidential unless there is a risk of harm to you or someone else. If confidentiality did need to be broken, wherever possible this will be discussed with you first. In order to work in a safe way I will ask for the name and address of your GP at our first meeting.
I have an MSc in Psychotherapy from Middlesex University (Metanoia Institute)
I also have:
BA Hons Degree in English (BA) from Exeter University (2004)
Masters Degree in Law (LLM) from Birkbeck College, University of London (2008)

Diploma Advanced Mental Health Practice from Bournemouth University (2016)
